07 — Jessica Hische
My California Sound Memory
“I used to live in New York. Before I moved to California, I didn’t really know how to relax—in fact, thinking about relaxing would make me anxious! It’s taken a few years, but I think I can finally say that California has taken me over. I think it’s taken over much of the world right now—its attitude toward food, spirituality, “herbal remedies,” and, of course, music. From modern sloppy surf rock to jangly indie mountain music to psych-rock to ’70s-influenced slow-jam hip-hop … I want to both explore new, creative outlets and sit back, relax, and take in the view.”
